Film Description
There is still a strikingly low number of women mediators in formal peace processes, and the inclusion of gender considerations in decision-making to end conflicts remains limited. United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 calls for a growing commitment by governments and international organisations to encourage the stronger involvement of women in peace negotiations and an improved representation and contribution of women to peacemaking.
The HD Centre considers gender issues to be crucial for sustainable peace in its mediation work. We therefore attempt to promote women and gender considerations in our own mediation and that of others. This video considers some of these efforts and issues.
